Answer:

1. Gentle Breeze

The soft breeze rushes through my hair,

little critter race around my feet,

breathing the purified air.

Seeing nature around me is a treat.

The noise of the leaves being thrown,

the adorable little hare,

I watch it as it stares.

It jumps so high,

I'm mind blown.

I might say,

That hiking is relaxing and calm,

In any way!

2 Lost

I stand,

I'm stunned,

This can't real,

I'm lost in this horrid land.

No, no this is too serial.

I don't want to panic, though,

I just want to cry,

to try,

try to imagine a different world where I'm fine.

Not in this wretched line,

Maybe I can guess how I'll die.

Say goodnight,

this is the last time you'll see the light,

because you guessed right,

death by fright.

1)
In the greenery of the trees is the salvation of the brain, a place to rest old thoughts and gain new perspectives. And so our footfalls become our heartbeat and our sight becomes a sense of wakeful dreaming.
Hiking was that time when we felt absorbed and welcomed into nature, when we entered her lungs and were given a deeper sense of wonder.
2)
The path of stone rises ahead in rugged perfection, the light playing over the grey as if it were the fingers of a pianist upon gentle keys.
Hiking for us wasn't about the destination, but about family bonding and appreciating nature. It was about the tickle fights and the games of catch. It was the best time for us all and those strong emotions of love have carried me though many a tough time.

How would the meaning of the sentence change if we rewrote it as:

The man sighed loudly.
astraxan [27]

Answer:

To sigh loudly would imply that you are being snotty and you want your way, but it is more personal. You may just be sighing to one specific person instead of trying to draw attention to yourself over a bunch of people, perhaps to gain their attention.

CHAPTER II—THE SHE-WOLF, an excerpt
kakasveta [241]

Answer:

The major theme of the novel is that love begets love. This classic tale is about a violent, morose, and suspicious wolf-dog who is 'tamed' by the love and kindness of his gentle master. By the end of the book, White Fang has submitted totally to his kind master and will doing anything to protect him and his family.
