We as Americans are allowed to criticize our government without any punishment this plays into our freedom of speech (First Amendment). Other countries do not have this type of protection and we should be thankful to be able to criticize our own government without punishment or repercussions.
The candidate had to be trained as a scholar and then pass a series of written examinations. The Chinese civil service system, established in 124 B.C.E., required potential officials to be trained as scholars and then pass rigorous examinations to qualify for office.
I do believe the early Egyptians, being as smart as they where used a interesting method of a sundial. It caught the suns shadow and they where able to use it to tell the time.
