This method of agriculture is generally practiced by tribal people for subsistence farming in regions of northern South America, Central Africa, and Southeast Asia. It is often functioned in areas where open land for farming is not accessible because of thick vegetation. Historically Mayans were advance in agriculture, use a method called slash and burn agriculture before planting crops.
