Identify the subject and mood of the poem. Discuss how the poet's use of figurative language, imagery, and symbolism contribute to the reader's understanding.

There's a resentful mood. There is personification, imagery, and figurative language.

Her mother's house represents the attitude of her mother; the walls stood at attention, the air knew to hold its breath, the polished floor defied heel marks.

nadya68 [22]
It would most likely be B or C since they are the same. Dashes basically show emphasis and if the sentence inside them is taken away, the other parts of the sentence are not affected. If we took the lion part out of your sentence, the sentence would still be talking about symbolism. However it more common to use parenthesis or commas to add emphasis but that's just stylistic choice

hodyreva [135]
If you write one sentence describing the original paragraph's hook, and then a second sentence describing any supporting evidence in the paragraph, and then a third sentence describing the topic sentence, you will have written your critique.

Which line from Wilcox’s poem best reflects a contrasting view of regret when compared to Lazarus’s message?
Natasha_Volkova [10]

Answer:

Lazarus, in her poem, ‘Heroes, an inspiring work’ emphasizes the fact that some people who accept their lives as it is should receive more appreciations. Whereas, Wilcox, in her poem, explains that there is no necessity to accept life as it is. She strongly believes that if someone commits an error, they must try to resolve it. She also explains that it is not a bad idea to rebuild a life again. The following lines illustrate her strong approach towards regret,

''If he will stand firm on the grave of his errors,

And instead of regretting, resolve, resolve. "
