D. Many argued that Imperialism went against the Constitution. There was nothing in the Constitution that said what was being done was legal. Nor does it say anything about who or which branch has the power. It also goes against the classic American values. How can we stand for independence and peace if we are forcing people to live like us and do what we tell them to. Explanation:
