Norman Borlaug has developed a high yielding, semi dwarf wheat varieties that are resistant to diseases.

The Green Revolution Father is the name given for Dr.Norman Borlaug. An American biologist who has developed wheat varieties that are high yielding, medium dwarf resistant to diseases is Dr.Norman Borlaug.

He launched these varieties in Pakistan, India and Mexico. He was the key person who introduced the modern agricultural production techniques. Mexico was the net exporter of wheat. The yields of Wheat got doubled in Pakistan and India. This increase in the wheat yield is called as “Green Revolution”.
