Just as fiction depends on a narrator, we should note that poetry depends on a speaker who describes events, feelings, and ideas to the readers.
The narrator, tells a story and determines the point of view of the story. Just like the fiction has a narrator, we should note that the poetry also has a speaker who is regarded as the voice of the poem. Most times, the speaker is usually the poet.
