1. Hier mes parents ont découvert mon secret. The participe passé is composed with first an auxiliary (être ou avoir/be or have) and the participe passé.
2. Je ne vais pas ouvrir la fenêtre. « I will not open the window bcs I’m cold »

Little tips to know if you need to put the participe passé or the infinitif :
1. If you don’t have a aux. (Être ou avoir) which is conjugated, it’s infinitif. In the sentence « je ne vais pas fermer la fenêtre... » there is not an aux. so the verb « fermer » need to be « à l’infinitif »

2. Replace the verb with the verb « prendre » bcs the participe passé of prendre is « pris » (or « prise » if feminine and with a COD before the verb). So if you’re speaking out loud, you hear a big difference between « pris » et « prendre » so you can do it by ear.

How do u know whether a word is masculine or feminine in French
vodomira [7]
There are some endings that are typically masculine such as –on, but if you find it coming after a letter s or the letter c, it will often be feminine. Nouns that end in consonants like t, x, d, l, f, m or s, etc. tend to all be masculine words.
