Como la gente no reclamaba su oro porque creían que ahí estaba seguro, los banqueros siguieron dando esos papeles comprobatorios que más adelante se convertirían en los billetes.

Con el nacimiento de los bancos, el comercio recibiría un gran impulso y se organizaron ferias comerciales en las que mercaderes de odas partes de Europa y Asia se reunían para exhibir sus productos y venderlos.
