What was the main purpose of the march in Washington .

The March of Washington was held on August 28, 1963, led by Martin Luther King Jr.  The purpose was because of discrimination and segregation going on in that time period, and Dr. King was a huge role model in that darkness.

This program listed the events scheduled at the Lincoln Memorial during the August 28, 1963, March on Washington<span> for Jobs and Freedom. The highlight of the </span>march<span>, which attracted 250,000 people, was Martin Luther King's "I Have a Dream" speech.

Under the Articles of Confederation, the Central Government was very weak and the State governments were strong. Most of the powers were from the State governments. The Articles of Confederation had 13 articles. Article 5th established that the Congress of the Confederation would be formed by a delegation of 2 and 7 members of each state. The Central government could not tax, so state legislatures that had power to tax would raise money to pay for the Central government and for the army.
