High School. In tenth grade, she and seven friends started the Peace Ponies, a social and savings club. Members volunteered to help younger students and saved their money to give to needy families. In early April 1963, the Peace Ponies went to a mass meeting at Sixteenth Street Baptist Church. Martin Luther King Jr. gave the sermon that night. What does this characterization of Arnetta reveal

This question is missing the answer choices. I was able to find the complete question online. Since the excerpt is the same, I will omit it:

What does this characterization of Arnetta reveal?

A. her academic strengths.

B. her loyalty to friends.

C. her community involvement.

D. her spiritual devotion.

Answer:

What the characterization of Arnetta reveals is:

C. her community involvement.

Explanation:

The excerpt we are analyzing here was taken from the book "We've Got a Job: The 1963 Children's March", by Cynthia Levinson.

The purpose of the passage is to give us information about Arnetta Streeter, one of the participants in the famous march against segregation and discrimination that took place in 1963. Even though the author mentions where Arnetta attended school, the focus is not on her academic strengths or achievements.

What the author shows is that Arnetta was always concerned about the community in which she was inserted. Her community involvement is exemplified by her participation is a club that volunteered to help younger students and that saved their money to give to needy families. Arnetta was clearly worried about improving others' lives.

ivann1987 [24]
Well I’m not gonna write a whole essay I will say that utopia is usually something that seems perfect but deep down it’s not. There are many examples from movies such as the Hunger Games and Divergent. For many of the aspects of a utopia would include little to no crime, no poverty, and equality for everyone. Each of the listed aspects could easily be made into paragraph form lightly covering each topic. It’s also important to remember that in a utopia there are often unseen negligence so that whoever is running the utopia can keep up the perfect image it’s made for itself.

How is this older Beowulf different from the Beowulf who slew Grendel and his mother?
Inessa [10]

He has gotten wiser. He's also not as good as he was. He used a weapon with the dragon, but he didn't with Grendel. He knew he was older and slower.

NARA [144]

Answer:

definition

Explanation:

The text above presents a structure called "description". This can be determined because the text seeks to describe the situation of captive tigers in the country, addressing how these tigers are classified, the characteristics that keep them away from tigers in freedom, in addition to describing where they are, how they are raised and the body responsible for them. In this type of text, the author has the objective of transmitting the observations he has on a certain subject, this objective was fully achieved in the text above.
