Many people had opinions reflecting on the policies Franklin Roosevelt, but I think his policies we're just and fair. Poor Franklin, he had to clean up the mess Hoover left behind because of the Great Depression, so he had a lot of promise, and shoes to fill in. The "New Deal" he made was a sort of all in one package to get the nation back on it's feet, this was backed up by Roosevelts three R's. The R's represented: Relief for the unemployed, and poor, recovery of the economy back to normal levels, and reform of the financial system to prevent the Great Depression again. This sounded great, the nation will be back and running again, but what about those who opposed it? Now with Huey P. Long, he consistently denounced the New Deal as "socialism" and argued that it harmed America's business interests and gave ever-greater control to the central government in Washington. So I would not agree because America is Capitalist not Socialist. To be honest I can see his concern because of how much government money is being spent for this. In conclusion I love Roosevelts ideas, he was the man who brought America back on it's feet and should be praised for it.

Roosevelt was criticized for his economic policies, especially the shift in tone from individualism to collectivism with the dramatic expansion of the welfare state and regulation of the economy. ... These critics often accuse his policies of prolonging what they believe would otherwise have been a much shorter recession.

Robert A. Taft, powerful Republican Senator from Ohio from 1939 to 1953. Taft was the leader of the Republican Party's conservative wing; he consistently denounced the New Deal as "socialism" and argued that it harmed America's business interests and gave ever-greater control to the central government in Washington.

So I would not agree because America is Capitalist not Socialist.

I would like to keep Capitalism since it has been really successful and the economy is great, also there is no country that was ever successful using Socialism because socialism and communism only work while the government has money; If the government-run out of money then no one will have money and it will fail as Venezuela did so I'd rather have our Capitalism.

Could the government make the economy less reliant on exports in china?
Basile [38]
Yes but it would require a lot of work, money, and the economy would suffer at first. The first route is to slowly diverge and start importing from other countries. The other countries will use the money to start to produce things we request. This will happen over a long amount of time as other countries go through a sort of revolution and gain new ties with the U.S. The economy will suffer for years and things will become more expensive but in the long run our economy will stabilize and receive things it couldn’t have had before due to industrialization in baren countries and China continues to suffer as they cannot rely on the U.S. for major export.
