-October 30, 1810. The independentists won the Battle of "Monte de las Cruces;" but cannot capture Mexico City.

-July 30, 1811. Hidalgo is captured and killed.

-June 1, 1813. Priest José María Morelos y Pavón became th newleader of the Independence War.

-November 6, 1813. Independentists gathered in Chilpancingo, state of Guerrero, and sign the Act of Independence during the Congress of Chilpancingo.

-December 22, 1815. Morelos is captured and killed.

-January 1, 1820. General Agustín de Iturbide decides to fight for the Independents side and became the leader of the "Three-Guarantees Army." The army grew in numbers and defeats the Spanish army

-September 1821. Mexican army captures the important port of Veracruz and Agustin de Iturbide successfully captures Mexico City. Mexico's army officially hs defeated the Spanish Army.
