Answer:

Equatorial currents that are part of the subtropical gyres flow east to west. Equatorial counter currents between the gyres flow west to east.

Explanation:

Equatorial currents are water flows that move across the oceans influencing the climate and biology of different biomes. As shown in the question above, these currents are part of the subtropical gyres that flow from east to west. The movement of these currents can cause an accumulation of water in some regions due to the action of gravity. When this accumulation of water tries to move, it goes the opposite way, generating the equatorial countercurrents that move from west to east.

what is speculation? how does speculation occur? what role did the speculation play in the great depression?
xenn [34]

Answer:

1) The forming of a theory or conjecture without firm evidence. Or, investment in stocks, property, or other ventures in the hope of gain but with the risk of loss.

2) Speciation occurs when two or more populations become so genetically distinct that they no longer interbreed with one another. There are multiple ways this can occur. The natural ways speciation can occur are allopatric, parapatric, and sympatric speciation.

3) Before the Great Depression, there were limited regulations that governed the stock market. Investors were able to speculate wildly and buy stocks on margin or using borrowed money. ... The poor policies that governed the stock market proved to be another of the causes of the Great Depression.

What is a glacier? How could a massive chunk of ice carve out valleys and create lakes? Explain what glaciation means and identi
svlad2 [7]

Answer:

Glaciers not only transport material as they move, but they also sculpt and carve away the land beneath them. A glacier's weight, combined with its gradual movement, can drastically reshape the landscape over hundreds or even thousands of years. The ice erodes the land surface and carries the broken rocks and soil debris far from their original places, resulting in some interesting glacial landforms.
