English
1 answer:

Answer:

Part A:

The image is of planet Earth taken from the moon. It seems to be coming out of a void. This effect is so because the sun is illuminating the part of the earth facing it. That part is experiencing daylight. Whilst the other part is experiencing night.

Part B:

1. The primary focus of the picture or image is the Earth.

2. The colors which are emphasized in the image are:

  • Black
  • Grey and
  • Blue

Because the other parts of the image are hueless, that is, dark or grey, it makes the earth stand out as the sole object of focus.

3. From the image, the spaceship of the photographer is not visible. Also, the image does not show any other astronomic objects such as the stars.

4. The photo is titled Earth Rise. The earth in the picture does seem to be emanating from a dark place into a space that is illuminated

5. The overall mood of the image is that of solitude. Without other planets in visible proximity, the earth seems very solitary.

Explanation:

On December 24th, 1968, as the crew of Apollo 8 mission navigated or orbited around the moon, William Anders took this iconic phone later to be nicknamed "Earthrise" and endorsed as one of the most important pictures that mankind ever took of its environment.

What statements about American society do you think Irving is making in “The Devil and Tom Walker”? How do you think these state
klasskru [66]
In "The Devil and Tom Walker," Washington Irving criticizes the selfish and heartless sections of American society, especially usurers, by satirizing them through Tom Walker’s character. He also criticizes the hypocrisy of American religious groups through his satirical description of Tom’s churchgoing and through his mention of the Salem witch trials and the persecution of Quakers and Anabaptists. He also seems to suggest that American society was founded on violence and inequality:
"Since the red men have been exterminated by you white savages, I amuse myself by presiding at the persecutions of Quakers and Anabaptists; I am the great patron and prompter of slave dealers, and the grandmaster of the Salem witches."
