Poor ventilation to places that may need it such as apartments resulting in the death or a strong illness of infants and small animals, illness such as bronchitis and pneumonia can become more and more frequent in highly polluted areas. That being said pneumonia can cause excessive coughing (bronchitis does this to) and deathly high fevers. And that's just pollution in the form of smog. Water pollution can cause fishermen and farmers to be unable to harvest or catch food leading to them loosing business, money, and supplies.
