The Board of Generals (also known as magistrates) were people designated to occupy a public post in the administration of the Athenian State. These people were rotated on a yearly basis. At the end of their period, they were requested to give an account on their administration as well as inform their use of public funds as they are accountable for it.
This structure of government is similar to that of the British cabinet. As it is formed by the Ministers of the Crown. Each of these persons oversees a specific branch of the administration of Great Britain called government department. This was very similar to that of the Generals in the Athenian State. Ministers are accountable for all of the events that happen inside the body of government they administrate.
