The industries were un-monitiered and the food packing industry took advantage of that, resulting in the Creation of the FDA under the Pure Food and Drug Act in 1906 under Teddy Roosevelt. Also, the formation of Labor unions, fair wage, age and work day restrictions were formed under the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 under Franklin Roosevelt.
