In the story, Madame Loisel was a beautiful woman, she was born into a poor family and she got married to a clerk. She was not satisfy with her state in life and always consider her been born into a poor family as an accident of fate. Due to her love for luxurious things, she borrowed a diamond piece from her friend to wear to a party. She lost the diamond and has to use huge amount of money to replace it, not knowing that, the diamond she lost was a fake one. This plunged her into deeper poverty and she only realized her mistake ten years later.
