Should cities remove statues of Columbus?

History
1 answer:
choli [55]4 years ago

Answer: yes.

Explanation: In 1492, Columbus sailed the ocean blue... pillaged the land he found, enslaved the people he encountered and orchestrated mass genocide. It doesn't take a genius to see why many people are calling for statues of Christopher Columbus to be removed from public areas, saying the statues glorify Columbus and his crimes. Others argue removing the statues would hardly atone for the atrocities committed and is tantamount to erasing history

fgiga [73]
They felt that the robber barons had too much power at both the economic and political levels. By having all the economic resources, those who controlled businesses were able to set the parameters by which their workers were employed, and they were also able to "buy" the required politicians so as to secure their votes on legislation that was favorable to business owners and their interests.

What happened when Carter authorized increased government spending to help the economy?
Mars2501 [29]
I’m pretty sure it’s A. Because anytime the government over prints money for whatever reason it always causes inflation and adds to the national debt of the United States greatly. None of the other answers make sense to me.

How did the invention of the railroads help pour immigrants from Eastern Europe
likoan [24]

The invention of the railroads helped pour immigrants from Eastern Europe.

The development of steamships reduced passage time from weeks to days, in the case of the fastest ships, while the expansion of railroads across Europe in the middle of the 1800s significantly reduced travel time to embarkation ports. The size of the ships also expanded; some of them could accommodate more than 1,000 immigrants in steerage. They had to go by the river to reach Hamburg, one of the major ports of the time, before the development of railroads. This was inconvenient and took a few days. About 30 million Europeans immigrated to the United States between 1815 and 1915. Travel across the country used to cost close to $1,000 before the Transcontinental Railroad was built. The cost significantly decreased once the railroad was finished.
