Well Opposition to his nomination centered on his stated willingness to roll back the civil rights decisions of the Warren and Burger courts and his role in the October 1973 Saturday Night Massacre. On October 23, 1987, the Senate rejected Robert Bork's nomination to the Supreme Court by a roll call vote of 42—58. That's why senators did not support Bork's nomination so it would be the opposite.
