The plants however don’t need the oxygen, so they give it back to us, purifying the air we breathe and ridding it of the useless gas. As autotrophs, they are the first in line for consumption but unlike many other plants, these marvelous autotrophs serve many other purposes. For one, their size makes them a great environment for a variety or wildlife and organisms providing shade, shelter, and sometimes food. In addition to this, trees can help the life living around it by providing a place for a bear to scratch its back, a way for monkeys to get around, or some coverage for a fish in a river. Ultimately, trees are most definitely necessary for ours, and many other organisms’ survival, giving many creatures a better life. This is the importance of trees.
