Subtract-5 from both sides because the opposite +5 is -5 so they cancel out.
-3x=-15

Divide -3 from both sides so they can cancel each other out. So -15 divided by -3 would equal 5 because a negative and a negative makes a positive.
Which equals:
x=5

And to check your work you can just plug in 5 into x because 5 is X.

-3(5)+5=-10
Negative 3 times 5 equals -15 and plus 5 equals -10.
-10=-10
Which mean it is right cause they are the same number (-10) but if it were to be a different number it would be wrong. That’s how you can check your work. Just plug in X into the (x) equation. hope it help!! :))
