- Limit the government power

American democracy require the government to be separated on 3 different branches that have the power to limit each other's power. This is important to prevent the government from becoming too tyrannical.

- Give more power for the citizens

Democracy allow citizens to select representatives of government that they feel would represent them the best. If they're dissatisfied with their work, the citizens have the power to elect another candidate and remove the current ones.

<u>Weakness:</u>

- Make the legislation process become less efficient

Division of government require a legislation to be approved by several different officials. There are a lot of circumstances when these officials are belonged to another political party and might actively become a hindrance for the passing of the legislation. This Make the legislation process become less efficient

- There's still opportunities for private sectors to control the government.

Through political donations, the private sectors could give fund for the candidates who they would help them pass legislations that benefited their corporate interests.
