A. adding plumbing to a new building

B. creating a piece of furniture

C. preparing food to serve to customers

These jobs all pertain to someone in a trade labor and something they would enjoy doing. Each of these jobs require labor and mostly manual labor to accomplish the goal. Not only that, these jobs are used to serve others and create items others are able to purchase.

wlad13 [49]

Answer:

a. $222,000

b. $22,000

c. $158,000

Explanation:

a. FMV of rental property =  FMV of land received + Received cash

= $200,000 + $22,000

= $222,000

b. FMV of land received       $200,000

Cash boot received                $22,000

Less: Basis of rental property $158,000

Realized gain                           $64,000

Recognized gain (Boot)          $22,000

this transaction qualify for a like-kind exchange under section 1031  When no gain or loss is recognized on an exchange but on Boot received. But recognized gain will be lower of boot amount of realized gain.

c. Carryover basis of original assets =  FMV of rental property - Realized gain

= $158,000

Disney positions its brand as “a magical world where your dreams come true.” In its brand positioning, what goal does Disney ach
mars1129 [50]

Answer:

By mentioning to be "a magical world where your dreams come true", Disney seeks to position its brand by appealing to the illusion of its youngest consumers, who believe and enjoy that magical world as they consider it to be real. In turn, it also targets a more adult audience, the parents of those children and even young adults who remember their childhood, and seek through Disney to return to that magical world far from the problems of daily life.  Thus, through empathy and the generation of nostalgia, Disney captures a market that is receptive to its products due to the sentimentality they imply.

arlik [135]

Answer:

1) AGI = $112,400

2) Taxable Income = $80,600

Explanation:

Ed's Salary = $35,000

Jane's Salary = $70,000

Municipal bond interest income = $400

Qualified business income = $1,000

Alimony paid (for AGI deduction) = $7,000

Real property tax (from AGI deduction) = $10,000

Charitable contributions (from AGI) = $15,000

The total gross income for Jane and Ed = $70,000 + $35,000 = $105,000

1) Their AGI (Adjusted Gross Income) = $105,000  + $400 + $7,000 = $112,400

2)Their taxable income = $112,400 - $24400 - $7000 - $400 = $80,600
