Read the following excerpt from a memoir. Which sentence expresses the significance of this place to the writer? I grew up in No

rwood, Massachusetts. It is a town known for being in the book of world records for having the most "townies," among other things. Townies are people who spend their entire lives in a town and never move away. I went to school with a few students who were blood relatives to the founders of Norwood, making them true "Norwoodians." It was great having a true sense of home in Norwood, but being just 20 minutes south of Boston meant that we had easy access to the train by taking the bus to the Forest Hills train station. Oh, how I can recall the bus ride from Norwood into Boston, through Dedham, West Roxbury, and Roslindale. Those days were filled with seeing the tree-lined suburbs race away stop after stop, as we got closer to the city. Being able to hop on the "T", that is what we called the subway, brought sheer joy to me as a high school student, with the new-found freedom to hang out in the city. When I reached Boston, I would get off on the orange line and walk around Downtown Crossing and marvel at how big the city was compared to what downtown Norwood looked like. There were options. Different foods, all types of stores, and I could never get enough of it. I travel back to Boston often and when I do, I always make sure to get on the "T" at Forest Hills and take the swift ride into Downtown Crossing and relive my younger days.

The Loss of American Indian Life and Culture. As American settlers pushed westward, they inevitably came into conflict with Indian tribes that had long been living on the land. The result was devastating for the Indian tribes, which lacked the weapons and group cohesion to fight back against such well-armed forces.

This report found generally that the federal government was failing at its goals of protecting Native Americans, their land, and their resources, both personal and cultural.

After the Meriam report, Secretary of the Interior Hubert Work proposed that the Rockefeller Foundation support a survey by the Institute for Government Research. Five years after the Meriam Report, the Federal government began overhauling its Native American policy with the Wheeler-Howard Act (Indian Reorganization Act of 1934).

In “Broadcaster John Hilton Talks about Talking,” what is used to contribute to a stream-of-consciousness style of writing?

I have not read the passage myself, but here are some helpful tips that can help you to figure it out. An ellipses is a series of three periods (...). Imagery is description that involves the senses, typically sight. Whatever the story makes you visualize is its imagery. Metaphors are figures of speech that contain comparisons, but do not use "like" or "as." Examples of metaphors include "the blanket of snow" or "the curtain of night." A setting is when or where the story takes place. Hope this helps.
