the way to do these recurring decimals is by firstly separating the repeating part or recurring part and then multiply it by some power of 10 so we move it to the left, lemme show

3.5\overline{41}\implies \cfrac{35.\overline{41}}{10}\qquad \stackrel{\textit{say that the repe}\textit{ating part is }~\hfill }{x = \overline{0.41}\qquad \qquad \textit{so that }35.\overline{41}=35+\overline{0.41}=35+x}

now, let's multiply that repeating part by some power of 10 that moves the 41 to the left, well, we have two repeating decimals, 4 and 1, so let's use two zeros, namely 100 or 10², thus

100\cdot x = 41.\overline{41}\implies 100x - 41+\overline{0.41}\implies 100x = 41+x\implies 99x=41 \\\\\\ \boxed{x =\cfrac{41}{99}}\qquad \qquad \textit{so then we can say that}~~\cfrac{35.\overline{41}}{10}\implies \cfrac{35+\frac{41}{99}}{10} \\\\\\ \cfrac{~~\frac{3506}{99}~~}{10}\implies \cfrac{~~\frac{3506}{99}~~}{\frac{10}{1}}\implies \cfrac{3506}{99}\cdot \cfrac{1}{10}\implies \cfrac{3506}{990}\implies \blacktriangleright \stackrel{\textit{which simplifies to}}{\cfrac{1753}{495}} \blacktriangleleft

I can only manage to get 3/4 and i know i got the answer right so can someone please help me?
iragen [17]

Answer:

See below.

Step-by-step explanation:

A(1, 4)

B(3, 0)

C(-3, -2)

We find the coordinates of he midpoints using the midpioint formula.

D([1 + 3]/2, [4 + 0]/2) = D(2, 2)

E([1 + (-3)]/2, [4 + (-2)]/2) = E(-1, 1)

We find the slopes using the slope formula.

slope of BC:

m_BC = (-2 - 0)/(-3 - 3) = -2/(-6) = 1/3

slope of DE:

m_DE = (1 - 2)/(-1 - 2) = -1/(-3) = 1/3

Since the slopes of BC and DE are equal, the lines are parallel.

A certain triangle has a perimeter of 3084 mi. The shortest side measures 76 mi less than the middle side, and the longest side
kari74 [83]

shortest side: 851

middle side:927

longest side : 1306

Explanation

Step 1

Let

x represents the shortest side

y represents the middle side

z represents the longest side

so, set the equations

a) the perimeter of a rectangle is the sum of the sides, so

\begin{gathered} \text{Perimeter= side1+side2+side3} \\ replace \\ 3084=x+y+z \\ x+y+z=3084\Rightarrow\text{ Equation(1)} \end{gathered}

b) The shortest side measures 76 mi less than the middle side( in other words, you have to subtract 76 from middle side to get the shortest side)

x=y-76\Rightarrow equation(2)

c) and the longest side measures 379 mi more than the middle side,( in other words, you have to add 379 to middle side to obtain the longest side)

z=y+379\Rightarrow equation(3)

Step 2

solve the equations

a) now, replace the x an z value sfrom equation (2) and (3) into equation(1)

\begin{gathered} x+y+z=3084\Rightarrow\text{ Equation(1)} \\ (y-76)+y+(y+379)=3084 \\ -76+3y+379=3084 \\ 303+3y=3084 \\ 3y=3084-303 \\  \\ 3y=2781 \\ \text{divide both sides by 3} \\ \frac{3y}{3}=\frac{2781}{3} \\ y=927 \end{gathered}

now, replace the y value in equatino (2) to find x

b)

\begin{gathered} x=y-76\Rightarrow equation(2) \\ x=927-76 \\ x=851 \end{gathered}

c) finally, prelace x and y value in equation (1) to find z

\begin{gathered} x+y+z=3084\Rightarrow\text{ Equation(1)} \\ 851+927+z=3084 \\ \text{add like terms} \\ 1778+z=3084 \\ \text{subtract 1778 in both sides} \\ 1778+z-1778=3084-1778 \\ z=1306 \end{gathered}

so

shortest side: 851

middle side:927

longest side : 1306

I hope this helps you

How Do I solve this!
motikmotik

Answer:

1380 in²

Step-by-step explanation:

The lateral surface is the sum of the areas of all the sides, or 'faces'.

The bases (the top and bottom) are <u>not </u>included.

This is a prism with triangles for bases (at each end). The sides are rectangles.

Add up the areas of the rectangles.

300 + 480 + 600 = 1380

A sample of 60 women is obtained, and their heights ( in inches ) and pulse rates ( in beats per minute ) are measured. The line
Elan Coil [88]

Answer:

The best predicted pulse rate of a woman who is 74 inches tall is 80.4 (beats per minute).

Step-by-step explanation:

The best predicted pulse rate of a woman who is 74 inches tall is obtained below:

Let x denotes height (in inches) and y denotes pulse rates (in beats per minute).

From the information, the regression equation is, the total number of women is 60 and the linear correlation coefficient between height and pulse rates is 0.234 and the mean of heights is 63.4 and the mean of pulse rates is 75.6. The estimated regression line is

^y= 17.5 + 0.850x

     The required best predicted pulse rates is,

      =17.5 + (0.850×74)

=17.5 + 62.9

<em>=   </em><em><u>80.4  beats per minute</u></em>
