On a given microscope, the numerical apertures of the condenser and low power objective lenses are 1.25 and 0.25 respectively. Y

ou are supplied with a filter that selects a wavelength of 520 nm.

Answer:

a. Resolving power (R) = 346.7 nanometers (nm)

b. No, because the resolving power is 346.7 nm

Explanation:

In microscopy, resolution or resolving power (R) refers to the minimum distance at which two distinct points can still be distinguished as separate entities. R can be calculated by the following equation:

Resolving power (R) = wavelength /(NAo + NAc), where NAo is the numerical aperture of the objective and NAc is the numerical aperture of the condenser. In the case above described:

R = 520 nanometers / (1.25 + 0.25) = 346.7 nanometers (nm)

In consequence, the resolving power of this microscope at 520 nanometers of wavelength is 346.7 nm, thereby two points separated by 300 nm will be too close to be distinguished as separated objects.

A stars emission spectrum tells
Alla [95]
The answer is C where the star is found in the sky. If a star is moving toward us, its spectroscopy will be observed at shorter wavelengths, this is called "blueshifted". If the star is moving away from us, the lines will appear in longer wavelengths, and that's called "redshifted".
Sorry for a late response, but I hope this helped.

1. State one possible negative effect of a warming trend on Earth. Specify how this effect will
sdas [7]

Answer:

One stated possible negative effect of a warming trend on earth is that the polar ice caps could melt.

Explanation:

Specification on how this will have a negative impact on the living environment is that it will cause sea levels to rise this is negative because: tsunamis will become more severe and damaging to land. Rain storms will have severe floods then what we have now.

Hope this helps.

In procedure b, which tube showed the most digestion of egg albumin? what can you conclude about the ph optimum of pepsin?
sammy [17]

Answer:

Following incubation, the most digestion of egg albumin (protein) in exercise "B" occurred in tube 2. This shows that the enzyme pepsin has both a pH optimum (acidic) and a temperature optimum (37C).
