How did even northern states limit the freedoms of blacks even as they decried the expansion of slavery?
Dmitriy789 [7]

Answer: Passing laws that limited the movement and freedom of blacks

Explanation:

Even though the whites in the Northern territories viewed slavery as a moral wrong and a stain on the moral fibre of the United States, they did not believe that Black people should be entitled to the same rights as them.

To keep blacks at a certain social level and to limit the amount of blacks in their territories, some states passed laws that restricted the movements of blacks.

States like California and Kansas did it subtly while states like Iowa, Illinois and Indiana banned blacks entirely from their states.

What was the main reason why feudalism developed in Europe?
stellarik [79]
The reasons for the development of feudalism vary between nations that employed the system, most notably, the Roman and Germanic cultures. Feudalism developed with the Romans as a method of land tenure. In this practice, a land grant was given by the land-holder to an individual in exchange for services rendered. Often, these contracts were for life.

Feudalism spread through Europe during the ninth century and lasted for several centuries in some nations. In France, feudalism began as wealthy landowners built castles for protection. As kings weren't powerful enough to reclaim their land, nobles began to claim authority over land in their jurisdiction.

In England, feudalism wasn't part of Anglo-Saxon society. However, large landowners had extensive powers in terms of managing their land. When William the Conqueror introduced feudalism in the 11th century, he maintained authority over all landowners.

In Germany, feudalism lasted for many centuries. This was due to the weakening of royal power due to issues like the German throne being a position for which rulers had to be elected. Issues such as this kept the nobles powerful, despite the attempts of some rulers to limit them.

Who are Democrats and Republicans?

This refers to the party system that exists in the United States of America as they have different ideals and beliefs.

Hence, we can see that the key theme in How the Republican Part Went from Lincoln to Trump talks about the earlier party, the Whigs who were divided about the issue of slavery, and the emergence of the Republic Party from Abraham Lincoln.
