PART A: How does the setting develop the theme of the short story? A The story takes place during World War II, revealing how Da
Tanya [424]

Answer:

C. The story takes place during World War II, drawing parallels between Daisy’s bullies and the violent actions of Germany.

Explanation:

Susan Cooper's "Muffin" is a story about a bullied young girl who had no one to stand by her side except her mother. But one day, an old lady appeared while she was being bullied by Alice, and from then on she became the one other person Daisy goes to for help.

This story was set during the Second World War, culminating with the death of the old lady which made Daisy realize she needs to stand by herself and confront her bullies. Not only that, she needs to take care of Muffin, the old lady's dog who had also rescued her once from the bullying. This setting of the story alongside the war draws parallel to her bullying and Germany's violence against her enemies.

Edgar Allan Poe's narrator in "The Tell-Tale Heart" describes in detail the circumstances surrounding his murder of an old man.
NemiM [27]
Hello! I would say the narrator is insane because he can still hear the old man’s heart thumping from underneath the floorboards even after he killed him. His guilt gets the better of him and he turns himself in to the cops. I don’t have any evidence sense I don’t have the story on me, but use something from the story along the lines where he “hears” the thumping of his heart as evidence.

Travka [436]

Answer:   The correct answer is:  False

Explanation:  Events are called dependent when the probability of an event depends on the occurrence of another. When event A depends on event B, the probability that A occurs, given that B has occurred, is different from the probability that A occurs only .

lina2011 [118]

Answer:

Titania asks Bottom if he is hungry, and he replies that he has a strange appetite, despite the ubiquity of chaos in Act III, all that is necessary to resolve matters is the magic potion rather than an expression of his natural feelings, love has been hilarity, Shakespeare simply invokes the fairies' magic to dispel all conflict.
