Answer and Explanation:

There is a very good strategy to start a speech and get your audience interested, especially when the topic is controversial such as this one: ask the audience a question. As a matter of fact, it can even be multiple questions. The purpose here is to get them to think about the topic and to anticipate what you are going to say about it. Examples would be:

- Would you like to be rich?

- Would you be happier if you were rich?

- How much money would make you happy? Ten thousand dollars? A million?

- What would you do if you had billions and billions of dollars? Take a moment to imagine it. Would those things make you happier than you are now?

Of course, there is no need for them to answer them out loud, nor to raise their hands or anything. But they will surely answer the questions in their minds, and that will get the ball rolling for you.

Then, you can move on to explain your point of view. Money does bring happiness because... and so on.

In this excerpt from Earnest Hemingway’s “In Another Country,” Whig sentences show the distrust the soldiers had toward new tech
Luden [163]
The answers are the following:
In the next machine was a major who had a little hand like a baby's. He winked at me when the doctor examined his hand, which was between two leather straps that bounced up and down and flapped the stiff fingers

The doctor went to his office in a back room and brought a photograph which showed a hand that had been withered almost as small as the major's, before it had taken a machine course, and after was a little larger.

"Very interesting, very interesting," the major said, and handed it back to the doctor.

What is the story of porsha johnson and leslie lucas
n200080 [17]
Leslie never thought she'd have much in common with the kids at her new school. She grew up in Westchester County and likes Sheryl Crow, but she had to move here when her mom died. Losing her mom and losing her home was terrible, and she didn't really have any friends for a cool minute there.

And then one day she ticked off Porscha Johnson. The two girls almost got in a fight, but when Leslie confessed that her mom had died, Porscha said the same thing happened to her mom.
The two became fast friends. Leslie really needed someone to talk to, so Porscha was like a lifesaver.
Open Mike Fridays help, too; it's good to talk to people about things and to get to know other folks. The whole school knows about their class, too. They're called "the poets."
Last month's assignment from Mr. Ward was to write about something that really scared you.
The most terrifying thing in Leslie's life would be being alone.
