La sociedad de clases fue central en el Viejo Régimen. La población se dividió en tres clases: la nobleza, el clero y el tercer estado. La nobleza y el clero tenían numerosos privilegios, incluida la exención de impuestos y otros privilegios. El Tercer Estado, formado por ciudadanos corrientes como agricultores, trabajadores y artesanos, tenía poco que decir. Característico de este período fue el bajo nivel de influencia política y poder para el ciudadano emergente, artesanos y trabajadores por un lado en comparación con la influencia excesiva y especialmente los privilegios de la nobleza y el clero por el otro.

Great Britain has a class system that is divided into a class system that is divided into lower, middle and upper classes of which only 1% of the population falls under the upper class of the most powerful and highly educated, while the rest is evenly divided into middle and lower (working) class.
The former Soviet Union mainly focuses on socialism with no division of social classes, through this citizens contribute their labour to the common good and receive according to their needs.
