Without Cellular Respiration, what would immediately occur in the body after death? *
Bas_tet [7]

The body will shut down and die

Explanation:

Cellular respiration in cells generates ATPs, the energy currency of the cell, to powers all active biochemical activities. Without ATPs, the biochemical activities would stall. Because the body uses energy to actively maintain a homeostatic condition for proper cell functioning, this process would also stall causing the body conditions to go haywire. Most cells would begin to die.

Later the body would cool because heat is also not being produced (the body produces heat because cellular respiration is inefficient and some energy is lost through heat). The enzymes in the cells, including those in the gut, would begin breaking down the cells hence digesting themselves. This is what causes bloating because the bacteria in the gut also begins feeding on the broken down cells giving off-gases.
