Actual Answer:
In the first act of Hamilton, Alexander Hamilton gets to New York and meets Aaron Burr, John Laurens, Hercules Mulligan, and Marquis de Lafayette at a bar and they become friends. He and his friends all talk about revolution and they join the military.
During the revolution he meets Eliza Schuyler at a ball where they fall in love and get married. Everyone is happy for them including Eliza's sister Angelica Schuyler, even though she also likes Hamilton. Close to the end of the act, Eliza and Alexander have a child, who they named Philip, after Eliza's father.
In the military and becomes General Washington's right-hand man, and makes himself important to the revolution and future events. While he is expecting a child, the revolution is won and he goes home and becomes a Lawyer, the act ends with him becoming Treasury Secretary, and re-becoming George Washington's right-hand man.
He meant that this is what he did, run, win or lose. He said lonely because he was not accustomed to losing and was alone in this new experience. Running was everything to him. That was day in and day out. This was not a healthy attitude
