How did Romes defeats help lead to their later victory over the Samnites?

History

Margaret [11]3 years ago

The first of these wars was the result of Rome's intervention to rescue the Campanian city of Capua from a Samnite attack. The second one was the result of Rome's intervention in the politics of the city of Naples and developed into a contest over the control of much of central and southern Italy. The third war also involved a struggle over the control of this part of Italy. The wars extended over half a century and the peoples to the east, north, and west of Samnium (land of the Samnites) as well as the peoples of central Italy north of Rome (the Etruscans, Umbrians, and Picenti) and the Senone Gauls got involved to various degrees and at various points in time. The Samnites were one of early Rome's most formidable rivals.

The results were Roman control over much of central Italy and part of southern Italy (the modern regions of Lazio, Abruzzo, Molise, Campania and Basilicata and Northern Apulia)

According to Dr. Green, what factors impact voters' opinions of candidates during and after debates?
ioda

Answer:

The answer is below

Explanation:

According to Dr. John C Green, debates actually matters in an election. However, the impact of debates comes in two different folds.

Firstly, those that actually watch the debate. These people get the information directly from the aspirants and it shifts their opinions about who they will vote for eventually.

On the other hand, are those that actually didn't watch the debate. These people often more than those that watch the debate, are influenced by the media narratives that come after the debates. And in a way, it also changes their opinions about whom exactly they would give their votes.

He however concluded that it is difficult to measure the impact of the debate on election outcomes. In his word "just because people get information does not mean they will be persuaded one way or another."

“The Admiral, it is true, was blind as those who came after him, and he was so anxious to please the King that he committed irre
Elodia [21]

Answer:

In this quote, de Las Casas refers to Admiral as a criminal and oppressor.

Explanation:

The passage shows that Admiral, in his ambition to please the king, criminally oppressed the Indians, becoming a criminal, as well as an oppressor, and causing suffering to the natives in the name of a possible "admiration" of the monarch, and thus like those who came before him, he did not see that he was behaving exactly like the others, promoting nothing that would make him stand out in the eyes of the king and causing suffering in vain.
