_____ serve as brief summaries of large amounts of information about what kinds of policies a candidate is likely to put forward
Ket [755]

Answer:

Manifestos

Explanation:

Manifestos are the documents that disclose the information that a candidate, or more often the political party that the candidate belongs to, will present as policy should they be elected. They typically include economical evaluation of the policy and arguments debating its merits. More often than not, they also contain arguments as to why the opposing candidates policies are unwise. They are typically complied and released in preparation for a widespread election, such as a General Election in the UK or a Presidential Election in the USA. These are then (Theoretically) used as on strand of information on which to vote for a candidate.

What political crisis inspired the national motto to change from "E Pluribus Unum" to "In God We Trust?"
jeka94
The Red Scare concerning communism.

"E pluribus unum" (out of many, one) was essentially considered the US motto until 1956, when Congress passed an act adopting "In God We Trust" as the country's official motto. Opposition to communism as a godless, atheistic ideology (and fear of its influence) was a motivator for the change. Similarly, the phrase "under God" was added to the Pledge of Allegiance by an act of Congress in 1954. Both acts were signed into law by President Dwight Eisenhower.

Why was it so important to Europe's development that many people's beverage of choice switched from
Andrej [43]

Answer: In Europe, the switch from alcohol to coffee was very important because drinking coffee became associated with intellect. Instead of intellects meeting at the local tavern, more and more intellectual individuals began to meet at the local coffeehouse to drink coffee and discuss ideas and developments for Europe.
