Answer:

A. Prepositional Phrase

Explanation:

To be independent, a clause must contain a verb and a subject and not begin with a subordinating word or phrase. An Independent Clause is a simple sentence. A simple sentence has a subject, a verb, and it makes sense. A preposition comes before an object, and usually creates a prepositional phrase.

kompoz [17]

Answer:

I don't exactly know what the teacher is looking for but I'll give it my best shot!

Explanation:

When America was discovered the first amendment was freedom of speech, and today people exercise that amendment everyday to voicing their opinions on everything good or bad, however such an amendment is what makes America great. Winston Churchill once said, "Everyone is in favor of free speech. Hardly a day passes without its being extolled, but some people's idea of it is that they are free to say what they like, but if anyone else says anything back, that is an outrage." This is true because some people will disagree on something and someone will get backlash mainly on social media. Another example is when Fredrick Douglas once said "To suppress free speech is a double wrong. It violates the rights of the hearer as well as those of the speaker." This is also true because if you don't hear someone's opinion all the way through then what is the point of the topic? In conclusion, America's freedom of press is important because everyone gets a say.

skelet666 [1.2K]
Yes, Gatsby really loves Daisy. He loved her so much that he pretended to be rich, just so she would look his way. When he went to war, he kept all her letters and memories sealed safely in a book. When he found out she was marrying Tom, he sent her a letter with the truth that he was in fact poor, and he let her go because he believed she would have a much better life.

Drag the tiles to the correct boxes to complete the pairs. Not all tiles will be used.
LUCKY_DIMON [66]

Explanation:

1. Family

In this excerpt, the boys are talking about a possible consequence for people who reveal the secrets. They decide that killing families would be a great deterrent. However, they realize Huck doesn't have any family worth killing. This shows how important family is to the characters and how little Huck's father was valued in society.

2. Deception

In the excerpt, Helmer talks about how Krogstad had to use a "cunning trick" and "how he has to wear a mask". These are all indicators of deception. Deception is a lie or a trick.

3. gender differences

Helmer says, "no man would sacrifice his honor." Nora says, "It is a thing hundreds of thousands of women have done." In this excerpt, they are showing the differences between a man and a woman.

4. Supernatural beliefs

In this excerpt, the speaker is comparing a sound a ghost makes. He also talks about getting some bad luck. Then does a few actions that would hopefully ward off any evil coming his way. The superstitious nature of his behavior is evidence of supernatural beliefs.
