The Nucleus of a neuron is an oval shaped membrane-bound structure found in the soma or body of the neuron. The sub units of a chromosome (genes) when activated induce the production of messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA). mRNA is a duplicate of the information contained in the gene. mRNA leaves the nucleus and attaches to a ribosome, where is serves as a template for the production of a protein molecule
Parts of a neuron
Neurons vary in size, shape, and structure depending on their role and location. However, nearly all neurons have three essential parts: a cell body, an axon, and dendrites.
