Oxygenic photosynthesis at first caused a mass extinction, but also allowed complex life on Earth to develop. In what ways does
igor_vitrenko [27]

Answer:

Oxygen would be played a key role in evolution of complex organisms because this molecule is required to efficiently produce chemical energy during cellular respiration

Explanation:

Chloroplasts originated from endosymbiotic cyanobacteria 1,500 million years (mya) ago. Like chloroplasts, mitochondria originated from cyanobacteria, and also approximately at the same time. Mitochondria are organelles capable of generating energy by burning oxygen during cellular respiration (aerobic respiration). During this period (1,500 mya), complex cells became able to efficiently produce energy by using oxygen in aerobic reactions, which can be attributed to the emergence of mitochondria. Interestingly, it has been shown that during the next 500 mya, different groups of organisms composed of more than 50 different cell types evolved (including algae, fungi and early animals). Therefore, it is possible to hypothesize oxygen would be a critical molecule without which complex organisms couldn't evolve.

What are the disadvantages of transmission electron microscope?
Arada [10]

A Transmission Electron Microscope is an impressive instrument with a number of advantages such as:

TEMs offer the most powerful magnification, potentially over one million times or more

TEMs have a wide-range of applications and can be utilized in a variety of different scientific, educational and industrial fields

TEMs provide information on element and compound structure

Images are high-quality and detailed

TEMs are able to yield information of surface features, shape, size and structure

They are easy to operate with proper training

Disafvantages:

Some cons of electron microscopes include:

TEMs are large and very expensive

Laborious sample preparation

Potential artifacts from sample preparation

Operation and analysis requires special training

Samples are limited to those that are electron transparent, able to tolerate the vacuum chamber and small enough to fit in the chamber

TEMs require special housing and maintenance

Images are black and white

Summarize Bradford's description of the New World in the above passage. Use details from the passage to support your answer.
VARVARA [1.3K]

But even so, Bradford repeatedly characterizes the Native Americans as “bloodthirsty,” arguing that they're “savages” because of their ignorance of Christianity.

Why was Bradford exploring the new world?

In need of money, Bradford's Separatist group (who called themselves “Saints”) had been forced to join with so-called “Strangers,” people outside the church who were seeking economic opportunities in the New World.

What was William Bradford's view of nature?

All things stand upon them with a weatherbeaten face, and the whole country, full of woods and thickets, represented a wild and savage hue. Please note two interesting aspects of this quote from Bradford:

 1. note how he characterizes nature as a hideous and desolate wilderness
 2. full of wild beasts and wild men.

With this information, we can conclude that Bradford repeatedly characterizes the Native Americans as bloodthirsty.
