.. What is the average rainfall in mm's for the following cities:
Andrei [34K]

The average annual precipitation in these cities are:

Vancouver - 1457 mm

Edmonton - 456

Regina - 390

Toronto - 831

Halifax - 1468

Explanation:

Canada is enormous country, and of course it has large differences when it comes to the precipitation levels across its territory. In general, the closer a region is to the sea, the more precipitation it tends to get, to further a region is in the interior, the lower the precipitation. The exceptions of these rules are the areas in the interior that are around the Great Lakes, and the far north.

The Great Lakes are several enormous lakes which create a lot of humidity in the air, so despite being in the interior, the amount of precipitation is relatively good. The northern part of the country, despite being surrounded by sea, has very low precipitation levels, with the main reason being the polar climate.

This patterns can easily be seen by the five cities on the list. Vancouver and Halifax are located on places that are heavily influenced by the sea, so they have high precipitation levels. Toronto is right next to the Great Lakes and it has medium precipitation levels. Regina and Edmonton are located in the interior, far away from the wet air masses, thus they have relatively low precipitation levels.

nata0808 [166]

Answer:

1. Applying the principle of original horizontality -indicates that layers were repositioned from a flat-lying orientation.

2. Magma intrudes into layers of sedimentary rock and displaces them. We can deduce that the intruded magma that crystallizes is younger than the surrounding sedimentary layers by applying the principle of crosscutting relationships.

3. While visiting the Grand Canyon, you are amazed by the depth of layers of sedimentary rock before you, the law of superposition-- is evident here where progressively younger layers have formed over time and are stacked upon each other.

4. A fault cuts through layers of limestone, sandstone, and conglomerate. The surrounding layers must be older than the fault.

5. A mass of granite has inclusions of surrounding sandstone. The sandstone and surrounding layers show evidence of uplift over time. The granite must be younger than the sand deposits.

Debora [2.8K]

Answer:

The cultivation of crops alongside the rearing of animals for meat or eggs or milk defines mixed farming. For example, a mixed farm may grow cereal crops such as wheat or rye and also keep cattle, sheep, pigs or poultry. Often the dung from the cattle serves to fertilize the cereal crops.
