In reaction
to the fugitive slave law, most of the people in the north showed open defiance
to the law and devised means to support the Underground Railroad to Canada. It
is reported that they formed committees to facilitate the transport of African
American slaves to Canada through the Underground Railroad.
Helped make them a stronger nation but also a bigger target, the more countries you control, the tastier you look for a bigger country to take you out and take your puppeted countries.
The Nazis thought that their country wasn't "great" because of the Jews so they decided to go with Hitlers final solution plan that puts Jews in a gas room and they gas them out to make their "country great"
