(I think our school should have its own newspaper. A student-run newspaper is a great way for us to get some real-world writing

experience. It also will benefit the readers. The newspaper can spread the word about events that go on at our school. A school newspaper would benefit students in all these ways. Sally wants to add a sentence to support her opinion that a school newspaper will benefit students.) Which sentence best supports her opinion?
1. I would make a great editor of the newspaper. 2. The paper could go out every week or once a month.
3. My parents both worked on their school papers when they were my age.

The sun's rays blazed through the leaves like drops of fire.
Hitman42 [59]

The answer is C.  The sun is not purposely trying to burn leaves, as it is not sentient.  The word fire may be used to exaggerate the tone, but it does not pertain to a simile.  The sun’s rays resembling drops of fire may contribute to an energetic tone, but C is the only answer that suggests simile.
