12) As a result of the Cuban Missile Crisis, was communism contained or expanded? Explain.
Len [333]

Answer:

Here you go:

Explanation:

The Cuban Missile Crisis was at the height of the Cold War, and led to the containment of communism. Soviet Union supported the Cuban dictator Fidel Castro in the establishment and supply of nuclear missiles to keep the United States occupied with the missiles being so close to their nation. As a result, the U.S. threatened to fire their own nuclear missiles which would have been catastrophic. Peace agreements were signed and the Cuban missiles were either demolished or shipped back to the Soviet Union, causing Soviet Union to back down, and thus resulting in the containment of communism.

How does this excerpt show Lincoln’s attitude toward Reconstruction? Give two examples.
Advocard [28]

The fragment shows the attitude of strength and leadership that Lincoln had for the process of rebuilding the United States.

Who is Lincoln?

Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865) was an American politician who is notable for having served as President of the United States from 1861 until his assassination in 1865.

His leadership was important for the country because during his government, the United States experienced the Civil War, the bloodiest conflict and perhaps also the greatest moral, constitutional and political crisis that the American nation has suffered.

Once this conflict ended, Lincoln's initiative was always focused on preserving the Union and abolished slavery. According to the excerpt, his leadership attitude and strength can be identified to inspire all citizens to continue fighting for a united country.
