One of the most important without out a doubt would be the battle of san jacinto this is where Sam Houston met the Mexican army and launched a surprise attack on the army the battel was only like 15mins long which is very short but the outcome was very big about 11 Texans were killed and 30 wounded while Mexico had 650 killed, 208 wounded and 300 captured i mean this is huge Texas practically took no wounded or killed compared to Mexico not only that but santa ana the general of the Mexican army and leader of Mexico was captured the Texans would make Santa ana practically signing a treaty that recognized the republic of Texas later on the Mexican army would have to go back behind the rio grande and this is how Texas became Texas
