Friendship is more likely to be fostered with people with good interpersonal skills and kids are no different. It is the responsibility of parents to teach and train children in interpersonal skills as this will attract other kids to them.
This can be done by:
Training the child on how to control their emotions.
Teaching the child how to be more empathetic
Reaching out to paediatricians or child counselors in case the child has social anxiety.
Teach the child conversation skills by being good conversationalists.
Engage the child with other children in cooperative activities vs competitive ones.
Teach the child about the value of compromise and negotiation.
Teach the child how to say sorry when they are wrong - show remorse.
Teach the child that forgiveness is important.
Engage in parental monitoring of their social life at a safe distance to ensure that they are doing okay while still protecting them.
The internet revolution is much like the print revolution in the way they both promote knowledge using simpler and easier tools that are easy to spread.
