Vsevolod [243]

We have been given that a rectangular yard is fenced in using 319 feet of custom fence Your friends really like the fence and decide to fence in their yard using the same fence.  Their yard is similar but has a scale factor of 8/5 times the size of  yours.

We are asked to find the length of fence that your friends should purchase.

Since the size of your friend's yard is \frac{8}{5} times your yard, so your friend should purchase \frac{8}{5} times the 319 feet.

\text{Length of fence your friend should purchase}=\frac{8}{5}\times 319\text{ ft}

\text{Length of fence your friend should purchase}=8\times 63.8\text{ ft}

\text{Length of fence your friend should purchase}=510.4\text{ ft}

Upon rounding our answer to nearest foot, we will get:

\text{Length of fence your friend should purchase}\approx 510\text{ ft}

Therefore, your friends should purchase 510 feet of fence and option C is the correct choice.

if you have 24 square piece of wood describe all the different ways you can make good rectangle by placing them side-by-side
Mariana [72]

This is an exercise you should actually do with real physical objects. The objects don't have to be wood and they don't have to be square for you to be able to arrange them into a rectangular shape. You can cut squares from paper, or use Scrabble™ tiles, poker chips, pennies, M&M™ candies, bottle caps, Legos™, Cheez-It™ crackers, pebbles, or any other objects of similar size and shape.

What you will find is that there are 8 possibilities, corresponding to the number of divisors of 24:

1×24, 2×12, 3×8, 4×6, 6×4, 8×3, 12×2, 24×1

_____

If you make rectangles from numbers of pieces other than 24, you will find that only two rectangles are possible for prime numbers, like 23: 1×23 or 23×1. Even numbers of tiles will all have rectangles of 1×_ and 2×_ (as well as _×1 and _×2).

Doing this sort of playing with physical objects helps you develop number sense that can serve you well later. Don't discount it.

SOVA2 [1]

Answer:

80x\geq 750

She'll need to save at least 10 months to be able to go buy the computer.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let

x ----> the number of months

we know that

The inequality that represent this situation is equal to

80x\geq 750

solve for x

x\geq 750/80

x\geq 9.4\ months

therefore

The minimum number of months is 10

4. The team scored the following number of runs in their games this season:
Rus_ich [418]

Answer:

4 runs

Step-by-step explanation:

Set up the average equation as follows:

6=\frac{6+2+5+9+11+4+5+8+6+7+5+x}{12}

Remember 12 will be on the bottom since you have to add an extra score; they have 11 games already. Now, just solve for x.

6 x 12 = 68 + x

72 = 68 + x

4 = x

Hope this helps!
