Answer:

The misinterpretation and stereotyping of Hinduism.

A Hindu is a person who follows the Hindu way of life, in the modern world, it is followed as a religion.

But the ancient practice of Hindu life was to have a healthy, happy, eco-friendly life with humility and compassion.

Examples:

Women kept away from temples and Pooja places during menstruation and during the first and last trimester of pregnancy :

In the era of civilizations, it was understood that women go through a lot of hormonal changes than men and require more attention and rest especially during menstruation and when pregnant. Their immune systems would be weak and so the society prevented them from visiting temples or interacting with other people who mingle with the outside world, during the period. Because, prayer was an integral part of their lives at that point.

But this was deeply misunderstood. Later generations interpreted menses as something impure. This was later taken advantage of by invaders and Religious colonization and spread the word out that it was Women Oppression - about a place where women are worshiped as Gods for their immense powers.
