The modern invention that I would compare to Gutenberg's printing press would be the Internet. The Internet makes everything faster, communication easier and more efficient. It revolutionalized information dissemination as the previous means of communication were slow, and unreliable but with the invention of the Internet, with just one click, people across continents can connect within a second or two.
