The correct answer is that the <span>nazi genocide had convinced them of the need for a safe haven for Jews. Anti-semitism was not a new thing and it has existed even much before nazism. It was after the holocaust that people realized that the Jewish people need to be protected because there will always be those who want to kill them because of their religion and ethnicity. </span>
