I have to do a short story about Southern Gothic which is based of slaves and the south. I don’t know what to write about at all

So if you're writing your own narrative, or short story in a southern gothic style, incorporate things such as hoodoo (African-American folk magic, this could give an eerie vibe because magic!!), gender roles, the horrors of racism and slavery. be sure to remember when writing that this was a different time, so stay true to the history. doing that doesn't mean you, the writer is racist.
